About the Commission for Aviation Regulation

Established on the 27th February 2001, the Commission for Aviation Regulation (CAR) is an independent public body in Ireland with many functions including the determination of airport charges at Dublin Airport and the licensing of tour operators, travel agents and air carriers. The CAR also approves groundhandling service providers and it has a significant consumer protection role. Click here for further information about the CAR and its functions.
